Janneke Oostrom is an Associate Professor of HRM and Organizational Behavior at the department of Management and Organization at VU Amsterdam. She is the chair of the program committee of the Bachelor in Business Administration. She also teach several courses in HRM and Research Methods and supervise a number of Master thesis projects each year, as well as 4 PhD projects currently.
Her research focuses on the recruitment and selection of personnel. Within this field, she studies topics such as situational judgment testing, overconfidence and leadership selection, impression management tactics, and adverse impact. She is an associate editor for the International Journal of Selection and Assessment and on the editorial board of the Journal of Personnel Psychology and Personnel Assessment and Decisions.
